A Taste of Tradition. A Celebration of Community.
If you believe some of the best memories are made around a table, you’ll feel right at home at the Hospice & Community Care Labor Day Auction.
Held Saturday, September 5, and Monday, September 7, at the Solanco Fairgrounds in Quarryville, this beloved Lancaster County tradition brings together homemade food, exciting auctions, family-friendly activities and a community coming together to support compassionate care for patients and families throughout the region.
Come Hungry. Leave Inspired.
The food alone is worth the trip.
Throughout the Auction, the fairgrounds come alive with the aromas of fresh-baked treats, smoky barbecue and homemade favorites prepared with care. Visitors can enjoy Cheesy Pretzel Breakfast Logs, apple fritters, sticky buns, barbecue chicken, ribs, shrimp and fries, fruit smoothies, milkshakes, whoopie pies and much more.
Many of these favorites reflect Lancaster County’s rich culinary heritage—recipes shared across generations, handcrafted foods made with care and a tradition of hospitality that brings people together.
Behind every meal is a story of generosity. What began decades ago as one family’s desire to give back to Hospice & Community Care has grown into an extraordinary community effort. Today, 23 food vendors and approximately 100 to 150 volunteers help prepare and serve thousands of meals, baked goods and treats that have become a beloved part of the Auction experience.
Many of the Auction’s homemade specialties are prepared by local Amish families and volunteers whose commitment to quality, tradition and service helps make this food experience so special.
